Concept
Enhance your creativity, invention, and self-expression in this process-based exploration of collage. You will utilize a variety of dry and wet media, including water-based paint and ink, drawing materials, acrylic mediums, printed media, and other found 2D materials, to develop technical skills and to discover the specific expressive potential inherent in collage.
Experience
Learn and gain hands-on experience through demonstrations, slide presentations, project prompts, personal projects, discussions, and critiques. You will work on multiple small projects over the course of two days, providing many opportunities to develop both aesthetics and expressive content.
The exhibition will be on view from Sept 28- Dec 31, 2016.
The exhibition was juried by Tom Balbo of the Morgan Conservatory in Cleveland, and origami artist Robert J. Lang.

I would like to invite you to an exciting group exhibition – the upcoming Mary L. Nohl Out of the Suitcase VI exhibition at the Frederick Layton Gallery at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. The show runs August 18 – October 3, with an Opening Reception on Friday, September 11, 6 – 8 p.m. |
This biennial exhibition showcases award-winning local artists who have received the Mary L. Nohl Suitcase Travel Award in the preceding two years. The suitcase program gives Milwaukee-area artists financial support to travel and show their work at different locations around the world. I received the award in the Winter 2013 cycle, which funded my participation in Installation Nation 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Click here to learn more about the exhibition. |
